7 STORE DISPLAY CONCEPTS

my current project is one in which we have to deliniate space without using walls. we had to come up with abstract ideas to express a retail store, an office, or a spiritual gathering. ive been looking all over for innovative ways to come up with displays to incorporate my concepts and here are a few that inspired me.

5 adventure

I have been dating a man, who I will refer to as "Meleh", for almost two years. He has this personality that is undescribable, but if I had to I would describe him as being an adventure. He is unpredictable and full of life- and I cannot seem to get enough. My mother often asks me if I can deal with his unpredictableness for the rest of my life and I simply reply... "well, I've always wanted an adventure". Perhaps his adventure will be my adventure, perhaps not, but for the time being I am entertaining the possibilities. On a side note, and the topic of this post, I LOVE old books. How personal a book can be... how cherished. In the past year or so, I've been collecting old books. If there is a book I want to read I often try to hunt it down in its original form, theres just something so much better about reading it that way. Today I was looking for new books to add to my collection and I stumbled upon two books by Osa Johnson, one of them entitled "Four Years in Paradise" and the other" I Married Adventure". How perfect. Photographers, explorers, naturalists and authors, Martin and Osa studied the wildlife and peoples of East and Central Africa, the South Pacific Islands and British North Borneo...They explored then unknown lands and brought back knowledge of cultures thousands of miles away through their films, writings and lectures. From 1917-1936, the Johnsons set up camp in some of the most remote areas of the world and provided an unmatched photographic record of the wildernesses of Kenya, the Congo, British North Borneo and the Solomon and New Hebrides Islands. Now that is an adventure I can seriously appreciate.

3 books books books

i have books overwhelming my house. i have a modest bookcase which, as of late, fulfilled my book keeping needs. however, due to school and my insatiable desire to collect old books, i need to come up with a new game plan. i recently purchased an antique drafting table and put it in my spare bedroom, which has led me to consider its posibilities. although my room is much smaller than any of the rooms ive been ogling, i am determined to incorporate these rooms somehow. take a gander.

1 design

so here i am, searching for an interior designer to do a project over. there are so many- how will i know who to pick? then i stumble upon jessica helgerson. amazing. based out of portland, oregon jessica specializes in sustainable design. not only are her designs thoughtful- they are also environmentally conscious.

i also have an upcoming project- does anyone have a favorite architect and interior designer? let me know your thoughts.
