who can do anthropologie better than anthropologie? *GASP*

OUR PROJECT WAS PICKED TO BE IN THE TOP 10!

One of the guest judges on the panel said that our concept was very "Anthropologie", "perhaps you have achieved this idea even better than they have" she said. when I heard this my mouth hit the floor... no one does "Anthropologie" better than they do, but that is a compliment that I just couldn't turn down.
I am so sorry that I have been so busy that I haven't been able to post anything :( Alas finals are coming up so my life is about to be consumed, especially since we need to execute our design. But Don't you worry your little head because I will be posting pictures of it, as well as the pictures of the other 9 designs that will be executed. Keep your fingers crossed, we are in this thing to win!
Until then, enjoy the winter. Drink some hot tea and imagine yourself in front of a feather-stamped-concrete fireplace and beneath a stick and Pine-cone chandelier.
Ah, this is the life.

i am determined to get unique gifts for my loved ones this christmas. i have been scouring etsy and have been astounded by how many adorable and unique gifts i have spotted. i am not playing favorites but i am really loving:
3P-3

This t-shirt has a birdcage opened and the birds flying away screen-printed (by hand) on the front and a our heart on the back left shoulder. Great holiday gift! $30, and its printed on a comfortable American Apparel shirt.

These beautiful stud earrings in the form of Anemone Leaves are hand pierced from sterling silver sheet then formed into a double layer puff construction..pricy at $160 but are adorable.

picky picky
adorable french charm ring, which translates to "I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow." At $9 its very affordable, not to mention unique.

Opulent Oddities
Large vintage brass crest with enameled sheild on it in green and white. There is also a pin on the back if you don't want to wear it as a necklace. Hanging from this is a peice of Denmark money, a pretty new jade briolette and an antique skeleton key. $33, also note that all of her items are interesting! they are very bold, and will take a special person to wear them, but they are undoubtedly unique.

that is all for today! ciao.

8 winter comes early

The College of Architecture, Interior Design Department will host a holiday fundraising event to help generate money for the Interior Design Department. The main event of the evening will involve a competition between the designs we will develop and execute in order to create the Winter Wonderland environment. The various attendees will vote for their favorite design via cash/check donations within our design bays. The winning designers and design team will receive recognition of winning the competition and certificates that can be used in our portfolio for future job endeavors.
My task as an up and coming designer and future alumni is to create a design of a Winter Wonderland for one bay in the college gallery. Each design must fit into one of the approximately 8’x11’ (delineated by the pipes on the ceiling) bays in the gallery. We also have several more guidelines, which include a budget of $150 and a color scheme of only white and silver. We create our designs and present them in two weeks, and the top 10 designs will proceed to be executed and built for the event.

so far our ideas are as followed:
a modern rustic space to be named "the enclave"

feel free to give your ideas! there is plenty more to come.
